Burger King Breakfast Hours
Burger King began developing its breakfast menu in 1978, but it was so challenging that it only began serving breakfast four years later. They had issues with their flame broilers; they didn’t cook as well as a traditional grill.
It, therefore, took Burger King a longer time to develop a more efficient breakfast. Once they did, the first item to be sold was the Croissan’wich which was introduced in 1983, and French toast sticks two years later.
The Croissan’wich was introduced to differentiate Burger King’s breakfast from McDonald’s as it was pretty similar before.
In 1986, Burger King introduced the BK AM, an express line that included French toast sticks and mini-muffins designed to be portable.
They later partnered with Lenders Bagels and introduced a bagel breakfast sandwich. In the late 1990s, it co-branded some of its products with Pillsbury.
These products included Freshly baked biscuits and the Cini-Minis. In 2000, Burger King launched the Burger For Breakfast program, serving burgers on the breakfast menu. The rollout was only at some restaurants, not all.
Restaurants faced a recession in the 2000s, which led to Burger King revamping its entire menu, giving birth to BK Brunch. This product line included an English muffin sandwich, a non-alcoholic mimosa, breakfast bowls.
Later, the Quaker Original Oatmeal was introduced on the Breakfast menu, making it more diet-friendly. In 2020, Burger King was about to introduce an All- Day breakfast, but it hasn’t seemed to roll out just yet.
Burger King has gone through massive revamps, discontinuing and reintroducing items such as breakfast buddy, Supreme Breakfast sandwich etc.
However, the most significant bone of contention for Burger King is the constant comparison with McDonald’s. Their menu constantly seems like a McDonald knock off, which seems never to work.

Burger King Breakfast is delicious
While Burger King has a wide variety of delicious items, the most sumptuous item is the Double Croissan’wich with Eggs and Cheese with Sausage and Bacon. The croissant bun(buttery), combined with the bacon and the savory sausages, will have you salivating so much. The eggs under the sausages and bacon are well cooked, but there’s a slice of American cheese between these two. There’s also a slice of cheese between the meats and the top half of the croissant bun. This sandwich is indeed a delight that will probably have you going back to Burger King every morning before work.

Cons Of Burger King Breakfast Hours
- Unhealthy food
- The menu doesn’t change much
- Poor Innovation/Creativity
Unhealthy food
Even though Burger King has tried to invent healthy items onto the Breakfast menu, Such as salads and the plant-based impossible Whopper, the most beloved items on the menu are unhealthy. Unsaturated fats, fillers, fats, and sodium constitute most of the burgers. These ingredients are very harmful to consumers’ health, especially those with high blood pressure and heart disease.
The menu doesn’t change much
Although Burger King has been serving breakfast since the ’80s, they still have not updated or expanded their menu. Most breakfast menus become a hit because of coffee, while Burger King does sell coffee, their selection is minimal. For instance, McDonald; they spent time and money expanding their coffee line and McCafe beverages, unlike Burger King, which is still stuck with the same old drinks. For sure, with the assortment, McDonald’s has, anyone would get tempted to choose them over Burger King. They should invent a menu that goes with the trends and appeals to the new generation.
Poor Innovation/Creativity
Burger King is very strict about serving breakfast until 10.30 sharp. While it is understandable, it doesn’t help that McDonald’s, Burger King’s biggest competitor, McDonald’s, served breakfast all day before the pandemic. This goes to show how bad Burger King’s creativity is at its knees-seeing as some of their items on the breakfast menu are a copy of McDonald’s items. Such meals include French Toast Sandwich and Maple Waffle Sandwich; they are more like McGriddle knockoffs, even though they are tasty. So much for innovation.
